Mary Lopez
My name is Mary Lopez and this is my eighth year as
Director of Little Angels Preschool. I have been a director for 22
years. Fourteen of which I was Teacher/Director at a local preschool
that was sold. I taught preschool for 4 years before that, for a
grand total of 26 years working with children and families.
I graduated from the Early Childhood Education Program at Santa
Barbara City College, and am First Aid and CPR certified.
I have worked with many of the teachers for years, and feel so
blessed to have been able to stay together all these years.

Cindy Ornelas
My name is Cindy Ornelas and I am the Lead Teacher
in the Ladybug room. I am in my 25th year of teaching. I graduated
from the Early Childhood Education Program at Santa Barbara City
College. I am also First Aid and CPR certified.
I have worked with Mary Lopez and a few of the other teachers for
seventeen years.
I started the Ladybug Room twelve years ago with the last seven
years here (going on eight) at Little Angels Preschool. I feel so
blessed to be teaching here after all these years, in a career that
I truly love.
Rosa Medina
My name is Rosa Medina and I am the new staff
member in the Ladybug Class. This is my first year working at Little
Angels. I have completed and currently attending Early Childhood
Courses at Santa Barbara City College. As soon as I am finished with
all of my ECE requirements at SBCC, I plan to transfer to Cal State
Channel Islands. I am really excited to work at Little Angels. I
love children and I know I will learn a lot from my co-workers.
Eileen Gonzalez
My name is Eileen Gonzalez and I am the assistant
in the Ladybug class. I was born and raised in Santa Barbara. I
worked in the banking industry for many years until my children
began preschool. Once they started preschool I changed careers and
worked at their preschool as an assistant for 9 years. This is the
eighth year I have been at Little Angels, since their opening. I am
also First Aid and CPR certified.

Lisa Szymovicz
My name is Lisa Szymovicz and I am the Lead Teacher
for the Bumblebee class. I have been teaching preschool for a total
of twenty-three years with the last seven years (going on eight)
here at Little Angels, since its opening. I graduated with a degree
in Early Childhood Education from Santa Barbara City College. I am
also First Aid and CPR certified.
In 1991 Mary Lopez and I opened the first Catholic preschool in
Santa Barbara County. I have worked with Mary for twenty plus years
and many of the other teachers for years.
In 2002 our dream came true, Little Angels Preschool was founded.
Carlina Gonzalez
My name is Carlina Gonzalez. I am one of the
teachers in the Bumblebee class. I have worked with children for 10
years, working in after school programs as well as coaching
basketball at multiple local schools. This is my sixth year at
Little Angels. I have completed Early Childhood Education Courses at
Santa Barbara City College and I am First Aid and CPR certified.
Katie Richards
My name is Katie Richards. I am the assistant in
the Bumblebee class. My teaching career began twelve years ago with
Mary Lopez, Lisa Szymovicz and Cindy Ornelas at San Roque Preschool.
They were my mentors as I went through the Early Childhood Education
Program at Santa Barbara City College. I graduated in 2000 with an
AA Degree in ECE. I am First Aid and CPR certified.
I am one of the founding members of Little Angels Preschool. In 2002
when we opened I was the Lead Teacher in the Pre-K class until I had
to step out in October of 2003 for medical reasons. In September of
2006, the doctors cleared me to return to work part-time. I am so
blessed there was a position for me again at Little Angels. I feel
like I have come home again.

Dolores Soto
My name is Dolores Soto, and this is my seventh
year being the Lead Teacher of the Pre-Kindergarten class, (the
Butterflies). Teaching at Little Angels preschool is a dream come
true, I am thrilled to be here.
I attended the Early Childhood Program at Santa Barbara City
College. I am also First Aid and CPR certified. I taught at Saint
Raphael's Preschool for eight years, and substituted at San Roque
Preschool during the summer months. I have worked with and known
Mary Lopez and many of the teachers for years.
I am very proud to be part of Little Angels Preschool and the
wonderful families and staff that go along with it.
Rosalie Galvez
Hello, my name is Rosalie Galvez and I am one of
the teachers in the Pre-K classroom. I have completed Early
Childhood Education courses at Santa Barbara City College and I also
have a B.S in Child Development. I am First Aid and CPR certified.
My experience includes working with children of all ages for the
last 17 years. I started my career working at St Raphael’s Preschool
as an assistant for four years. I am currently in my 12th year
working with young children, with the last seven teaching here at
Little Angels.
Jan Javier
Hi! My name is Jan Javier and I am the teacher
assistant in the Butterfly Class. This is my first year at Little
Angels. I am a fully qualified preschool teacher, having completed
many Early Childhood courses at Santa Barbara City College. I
started my teaching experience at St. Raphael Preschool as an
assistant, was a student teacher at Kinko’s Early Learning Center
and I have been babysitting since I was 13 years old. I am currently
finishing up at SBCC and am planning to transfer to Cal State
Channel Islands to obtain my BA in Early Childhood Education. I am
First Aid and CPR certified. I am so excited to join the Little
Angels Staff and hope to learn more from them as I build my own
teaching philosophy.
